Forté Fellows Program offers Fellowships to Women pursuing MBA Programs
I do not think that many people are aware of the Forté Foundation’s Fellowship Program or that it is available to international applicants. So what is the Forté Foundation? The Forté Foundation is a consortium of major corporations and top business schools that has become a powerful change agent in educating and directing talented women toward leadership roles in business. Their mission is to substantially increase the number of women business leaders by increasing the flow of women into key educational gateways and business networks.
The fellowships are offered to women who are pursuing a full-time, part-time or executive MBA education at participating business schools. To be considered for a fellowship, you must submit an MBA application to a participating school.
The fellowship offered both financial support as well as other non-financial benefits, such as
- Participation in the Annual MBA Women’s Conference and the Financial Services FAST Track Conference, including networking opportunities with lead executives and with MBA students from sponsor schools, along with panel discussions and workshops that foster professional and personal development;
- Inclusion in the Forté-specific resume book, which is distributed each fall to Forté member companies;
- Access to the Forté Foundation community while you are a student as a a Forte Fellow Alumnus
- Mentoring by Forté school representatives from your school;
So how do you apply for the Forté Fellows selected? The process is as follows:
- You apply to a Forté sponsor school.
- You receive offer of acceptance into Forté sponsor school’s MBA Program.
- You are considered for all scholarship opportunities available through that institution.
- The admissions officers at that school decide who to select as a Forté Fellowship based on the competitive process at that institution.
The Forté Foundation provided the following guidelines for admissions directors to consider as they SELECT admitted MBA candidates for the Forté Fellowship:
- Candidates should exhibit exemplary leadership in one or more ways: academic leadership, team leadership, community leadership, creative leadership.
- Schools are encouraged to nominate fellows from their schools who represent diverse educational and work backgrounds, career goals, ethnicities, and citizenship.
- In addition to the above, schools are encouraged to consider candidates who have already demonstrated a commitment to women and girls via personal mentorship or community involvement. Such commitment is in alignment with the mission of Forté Foundation.
