Why I chose to go to CMU?

GSIA (the Masters program at CMU) offered what I didn’t have – a quantitative, analytical approach to finance. I didn’t have much exposure to finance in my pre-MBA jobs, and what I wanted from my MBA was a specialization in Finance. GSIA offered exactly that, in a very analytical, bottom-up methodology.

What CMU can offer students, that you won’t read about on its website?

1. Great team work environment.
2. A quant-jock approach to finance, operations and statistics. Very useful later in life when you’re past the analyst level but still need to be able to comprehend financial analysis.
3. A lower (lower than East coast) cost of living and tuition.
